About

Who we are

UK-based, workshop facing and remote. Trace Systems builds workshop software so specialists spend less time in the parts book and keep fault knowledge when people move on.

UK-based · workshop facing · remote

We build for specialist dealers and workshops across the UK. Interactive 3D Parts Finder models can be built for any equipment type — available by quotation.

Mark Devaynes — Founder

Mark is an electrical and mechanical engineer. Fault finding is his craft: diagnosing machines in the bay, then turning that practice into software other technicians can use. He founded Trace Systems while working as a new build engineer — installing, testing and commissioning machine safety and control systems, and providing technical expertise to other engineering teams.

Mark is a British Armed Forces veteran. That experience shapes how Trace Systems is built — clear procedure, tools that hold up under pressure, and software meant for people who fix machines for a living — not a hollow footer badge.

Commercial boundary

Trace Systems does not use his employer’s data or customer lists. Catalogues and fault knowledge are built from each customer’s own books and records.

What we build

Catalogue levels — Parts Finder, Parts Catalogue Look-Up and Interactive 3D Parts Finder — plus the Diagnostic Assistant add-on (private local AI for logged faults and manuals, on your hardware). Together they make up Workshop Assistant.

Accounts support 2FA (authenticator or passkeys) and multi-level roles so workshop and admin access stay separated.
